This movie surprised me to say the least. I went in there expecting to see a documentary on my favorite fun-filled family game with the different colored dots. Instead what I found was a movie about tornadoes. But seriously, this movie was great if what you like to see is special effects. The tornadoes were very realistic. (No, they weren't real. They were made with computer wizardry.) My favorite thing about the movie was the truck of the lead character Bill Harding (Bill Paxton). It was a red Dodge Ram. The makers of the movie must have known how cool this truck is and incorporated it rather nicely.
However, those of you who like a plot and good acting may be a little disappointed. There were times when I just cringed. Sometimes it was the screenwriters' (one of whom is Michael Crichton) fault and the lines were so stupid that no one would have made them sound OK. Other times, I think the actors were just lazy or something. The one lone person that was anything near being good at acting was the girl who played Bill's fiancee (Jamie Gertz).
All in all, however, I say that this movie is worth seeing.
Shannon says: I concur.
