Movies starring Jackie Chan are always fun to watch. Operation Condor validates this. It is interesting however, and some of you may not know this, that this movie was originally made seven years ago in Hong Kong under the name Feiying Gaiwak. It has also held the names, Armour of God II and Operation Eagle. But whatever it is called, this movie was co-written, directed, and starred in by the somewhat legendary Jackie Chan, which is all that really matters. Some people always complain to me about many of Jackie Chan's movies saying that it is too annoying that the lip movements are out of sync with the voice overs. This may be true, and may be a valid complaint, but I for one find it funny. I for one also do not go to see a Jackie Chan movie for the dialogue. I go for the action, the comedy, and the amazement of what this man can do. If you have perhaps never seen a Jackie Chan movie, then I strongley urge you to do so. These movies are pure entertainment. You will surely enjoy yourself. If you don't like it, then you'll know what to do the next time a Jackie Chan movie comes out: don't see it, rather, go seek the help of a psychiatrist because there is something wrong with you. As for Operation Condor itself, this is a very good movie. Chan finds himself in search of a hidden vault of gold left over from the Nazi era. But, of course, there are others there who are searching for the same thing, for different reasons. This setup leads Jackie from one adventurous scene to another with everything having a touch of humor. And humor is what first time Chan viewers sometimes do not expect. But whether it was corny dialogue or slapstick, I was laughing throughout. One aspect of this movie that I found simply hilarious was the lightheartedness and quickness with which huge decisions are made by the characters of the film. For instance, after having planned this gold strike operation (known as Operation Condor) Jackie Chan and his female partner are approached by a blond-headed German girl who claims to know one of the builders of the gold mine. There is a debate as to whether or not she should go, but in a matter of seconds, everyone is smiling and they all pile into a jeep and immediately drive to Africa! And last, but not least, Operation Condor continues in the Chan tradition of outtakes. Once again we get to see which stunts gave Jackie Chan the most trouble as well as his sense of humor.
